Death by Risk Aversion

Quite a wonderful piece of insight.  I loved the description of the ideal boss maintaining the difficult balance between meeting business needs AND keeping morale high.  I also love the imagery of branches and leaves.

Camping this weekend.

Strippers?

We’re going camping this weekend and I can’t wait.

My wife hasn’t been camping since Girl Scouts and has expressed mild apprehension.

It’s raining today in Atlanta, so I hope that the weather improves.

There’s Cowboy!

There’s Cowboy!

I saw this photo on Flickr and instantly thought of one of my best friends Mike. He’s a bit of a cowboy. His dog’s name is Cowboy.

I’m wondering if the bull in the picture is a metaphor for “life”.

Regardless, the ride looks like it’s about over for this cowboy. It still looks like he’s smiling, though.

Yes – we do have a cat.

Several visitors to our house have expressed doubts.

This is her. Doing what she does best.

This wonderful landmark is apparently in Queensland, Australia.

My wife and I were married in Newport, RI. The symbol of that town is the pineapple and we have several pineapple themed decorations throughout our home. Pineapples have become very special to me.

This place will be immediately placed on my “things to see/do in my lifetime” list.

Jackass Penguin

I saw a picture of these birds on Flickr (here) and was intrigued by the name. I thought it was a joke.

Nope.

This photo reminds me of our cat, Madeline.

We’ve never quite “bonded” and she always seems to have a mischievous look in her eyes.

I gotta watch my back!

“The King” of cameras

The Elvis camera.   How freakin’ cool is that!

Superfluous?

Danger!

I wonder what prompted the the installation of this sign – an actual incident or someone’s honest fear that a sign was needed to warn drivers about the cliff.
